This morning we were all dressed, sun-screened, and ready to go to a swim playdate when a few idle moments turned into drama at the Tomlinson house. Amelia has this new toy hamster that runs around his little exercise wheel-the closest thing she'll get to a pet in our house (strangely closer than her real fish Roni and Roni). For some unknown reason, she thought it would be a good idea to put it on her head and let it climb up her. Yeah. Her hair was wound so tight around the axel of those two wheels that the contraption was stuck an inch away from her scalp. I got no pictures at that point because we were still in a panic. Thanks to consults from my sister and my hairdresser I made attempts with detangler, conditioner, and gentle pulls and tugs. Once we got it down to her ear, we decided to just cut it. I mean there was no way that hair was coming out of those wheels. Thirty minutes later, all during which Lane and Owen were tormenting each other in the background of my stress, she was free from the inside of the hamster that she calls a guinea pig. That was the excitement around our house today. Can't wait to see what's in store for tomorrow!

I laughed out loud at the pic of Amelia. I am wound super tight today (don't know why) and I needed that (sorry to A for chuckling at her expense)
Somehow I missed that it was a TOY hamster the first read-through! Before I saw the pictures I had an image of a real hamster & wheel stuck to Amelia's head! This is so great...a Tomlinson Classic has been born.
