Jason's great aunt Ruth has gone to be with Jesus. He left this morning to travel to McClenney for one funeral and then on to Valdosta for the second one. Jason's family has taken care of Ruth for years now as she does not have any close family of her own. I know Tommy loved her like a mother. She is in a far better place now where broken bones, dementia, and pneumonia are no longer.
I still cannot wrap my head around the fact that one moment we are here, on this earth, and the next moment, if we so choose, we are in the arms of Jesus. When I got the phone call about Ruth, she had only been gone for ten minutes. I sat thinking, she is with Jesus right now! All the things she could have ever wondered about were answered with one look into the eyes of Jesus. That will always be amazing to me. I believe it with my whole heart but will not be able to fully grasp it until the day my life here on earth is over.
Please say a prayer for Jason as he will have driven many, many hours by the time he returns tonight.
