This year, Jason and I decided that our Christmas gifts to our parents were going to create the opportunity to spend time together rather than get them something they really don't need, or want, for that matter.
This weekend, my parents came down our way to redeem our gift to them, a dinner and dessert out at Euphemia Haye on Longboat Key.
We had a wonderful time. On the drive out to the key, we saw a beautiful sunset. That just set the tone for a wonderful night. Jason had been to this place before for a doctor's dinner, but I never had, so I was just taking his word on it when he suggested it for my parents. I didn't exactly know what to expect. The atmosphere was awesome! It was very quaint and cozy. They had these hanging plants all over the restaurant with white lights intertwined. There were beautiful and unique plants, that my parents could name, surrounding the restaurant. Downstairs was the restaurant and upstairs, The Haye Loft, was the dessert room. The food was amazing and between the four of us we tasted quite a variety of food from steak and veal, to seafood. Even though we were all too stuffed for dessert, we forced ourselves upstairs to a massive spread of homemade desserts. That choice was the hardest one of the night. We all walked out of there wishing we had eaten a little less! It was great to spend some time with my parents without the kids interrupting and vying for their attention.

So wonderful! We did a similar gift to my parents this Christmas too! What a great choice of restaurants as well! The parents of my friend, Kate, own it & her dad is the head chef...her graduation party was delicious! I'm glad you threw caution to the wind and went for dessert! See you soon!
