I cannot tell you the joy it brings me to dress my kids in matching outfits. Ridiculous, right? I don't do it so that others will tell me how cute they look. Nor because I think in the scheme of things it is important, AT ALL. It is just fun for me. It is like dressing my little baby dolls as a child, only to take all the clothes off and dress them again in something different. I know I won't be able to do it for long, so I'm just enjoying it while I can. Any day now, Lane is going to tell me he does not want to match Owen. I just know he'll be the first to protest. Amelia is still extremely cooperative about wearing what I tell her to. She really could care less what she wears or what she looks like. I'm sure she gets that from me as my hair and makeup gets done about twice a week, at most. I actually would like to get better at that so that Amelia has a model of mom taking care of herself, hoping to pass a little of that on to her. Unfortunately, I am just the last person to get any attention in order to get out of the house on time. Some days, I put the kids in the car all buckled up, then run into the house and change out of my pajamas and give my teeth a quick brush before I run back out to the car to zoom away for a busy day. Isn't this the life of a mom with three preschool children? What? No? You mean you actually wake up early in order to shower, dress and put on makeup? So that's why no one else at the preschool pick up looks like they just rolled out of bed! Who knew?
