Pee-Pee Sheets and Vomit

I AM SO SICK OF CHANGING PEE-PEE SHEETS! Did my ALL CAPS relay the irritation I'm feeling? Ironically, I was just telling my sisters-in-law what a great job Amelia has done moving out of pull-ups at night. One day, out the blue, she just started waking up dry. After two weeks of a dry pull-up we went to panties with pretty much no accidents ever since. All of a sudden, it has been multiple times in one week that she has wet the bed. Knowing how high-maintenance I am about my sleep, you can imagine that I am slightly inconvenienced by having to start washing sheets in the middle of the night. Last night I was so not going there. It can wait till morning, I thought, let her crawl in bed with me. This is, of course, a short term solution that leads to poor sleep for the rest of the night due to my daughter being the LOUDEST teeth grinder you have ever heard in your life. When we go on trips that will require me to sleep in the same room as her, I bring ear plugs. It's that loud. You can hear it on the monitor or by standing outside her room with her door shut. It is unbelievable. I've contacted several dentist about it and they assure me there is nothing I can do about it until she gets her adult teeth. At least that is one bad habit I don't have to worry about forming-she will not be sleeping in mommy and daddy's bed!

While I am on the subject of changing sheets (well I was, before I went to the teeth grinding) let me tell you about my sleepless Monday night. We all have that mommy instinct that allows us to do things for our children that we could never typically do. You know, like change horrible diapers, or clean up vomit, or whatever disgusting thing we do to take care of our children. Well, Monday night Amelia threw up in bed. This time I could barely muster up that mommy power to take care of this situation. It was the kind of vomit where you actually have the serious thought that you will just throw the sheets away. The smell was so bad that it triggered my gag reflex and I had to work hard to keep it down. I have nursed many a sick kids back to health but I have never had this experience before. I'm fine with never having that experience again.

Fun times! Eli is not a teeth grinder. He talks VERY LOUD in his sleep. Two weekends ago we went to the lake with friends and Lily wept hysterically at the prospect of having to sleep in a bed with Eli - "He is SO LOUD.(sob) It drives me nuts!!!" Usually I brush off her dramatics, but I totally felt for her and pulled a mattress into our room from one of the other bazillion beds so she could RIP.

I am reading it! They make me laugh at all the trials your family goes through and how upbeat you are through it all!
