Saturday evening Jason and I took the kids up to the outlet mall to get out of the house and walk around a bit. I do encourage Amelia to be friendly to the people around her-as long as mommy is right with her. After several days of Vacation Bible School, themed Marketplace 29 A.D, Amelia decided the friendly thing to do was to shout "Shalom" at the top of her voice to every passer- by. Jason was cracking up. It almost didn't phase me since I'd been hearing it all week at VBS but when I stopped to think about it, I did have to chuckle!
We had our first hair cutting incident yesterday. We came out pretty lucky since her hair was half up in a ponytail. By the time the ponytail came down, the three inches she had cut off didn't seem so bad. It still hung beneath her chin. It actually took me finding several chunks of hair to figure out what had taken place. Amelia is typically very responsible with the scissors. And, Owen is known for pulling out chunks of Amelia's hair without so much as a shout from Amelia. I suppose she is just used to it by now. After the third chunk of hair I picked up off the ground in various places around the house, it occured to me. OMG! Amelia has cut her hair. I unleashed my wrath as I made the discovery. All the while thinking, this actually turned out pretty well considering how bad it could have been. Anyway, I don't think we'll run into that problem again. At least, I hope not. I guess that is just a temptation even the most perfect child cannot resist!

Hi Beverly,
Zach showed me your blog last night and your family is adorable! Hopefully we will be able to meet someday soon. Your blog looks great!

Yikes! Lily has finally grown out her bangs that were created courtesy of...not sure which one. She has the SLOWEST growing hair ever. Eli could have grown it out ten times by now. This is why my children have deficient fine motor skills in this departmen. I hide the scissors!
