Ruth's Chris Steakhouse

What kind of a name for a restaurant is that? I mean I can see Ruth Chris or Ruth Chris's. But Ruth's Chris. That is just annoying. Even now that I've eaten there and know why the restaurant is named that, it is still annoying.

Did you hear me say, now that I've eaten there?

Yes, Jason's job does have some perks. Remind me of that the weeks he is gone and I am holding on to my sanity by a sliver. This particular perk was finally getting to eat at Ruth's Chris Steakhouse for free. Now, I still maintain that it would be ridiculous to go to that restaurant and actually pay for your meal. Sorry to all you big spenders out there. There is just no need to spend that much money on a piece of steak that lasts for fifteen minutes. But since it was free, can I just tell you how unbelievably, fabulously, wonderful this place is? This coming from the girl who gets more excited about the loaded baked potato than the steak on the grill any old day of the week. When it comes to beef, I am more satisfied by a big cheeseburger than the finest steak around. Until. I. ate. at. Ruth's. Chris. Oh my! This fillet just melts in your mouth. Every thing from the salad to the cheesecake was the most tasting pleasure I have ever experienced.

Putting the food aside, I also had a great time with my husband. It is pathetic that it takes going out on a date to find any kind of quality time together. But that seems to be the way it's been lately. When the kids are awake, they consume pretty much everything. When they go down, we just have our own things we have to (or want to) get done. Before I know it, I haven't had a decent conversation with him in weeks. We had a great time talking and reconnecting. We could have easily accomplished this in an Applebees, but hey, I'm not complaining about our location!

The whole time we were there, different people kept coming up to us and wishing us Happy Anniversary. I guess when Jason was first planning this work event, he told the lady he would use the incentive gift cards to take his wife out for his anniversary. Well, the event was delayed because of the hurricanes and then it took a while for us to get around to going. Needless to say, our anniversary was months ago. I should have know there was some miscommunication when the host put rose petals all over our table. We tried explaining it to the first person that gave us well wishes but when two or three people immediately followed, we decided to just go with it rather than explain ourselves all night. Hey, we tried so I feel no guilt for getting a free desert out of it.

In summary, if you ever have a chance to go to Ruth's Chris-apostrophe-in-the-wrong-place-Steakhouse, it was fabulous and as worth the money as an expensive restaurant possibly could be.

Sounds fun. I still have not been. We did go to the Frosty Mug (traditional Icelandic??? cuisine thank you very much) this weekend - with the kids. My friend Jennifer's little girl loves Ruth's Chris. Somebody's in-laws are a touch over-indulgent dontcha think?
