32 Suits Me

Today is my thirty-second birthday. Here are a few reasons 32 suits me:

  • I think I'm the only woman in the world who likes her post-pregnancy body better than her pre-pregnancy body. I guess it works to my advantage that I never got around to getting in shape before I had kids. Now taking care of myself means having some time to myself so it is something I really enjoy.
  • Being a wife and a mother is all I ever dreamed of. One day, I will have to go back to work. But right now, I am living in this small window of time where my life is exactly the way I always wanted it to be.
  • I have more confidence in who I am than I have in other stages of my life. I am very aware of my weaknesses and where I fall short. But, being comfortable with these allows me to be real in the relationships of my life.
  • I feel crazy-blessed to have the friends that support me in my daily life. I try hard not to think about the day that I would ever have to move away from here. I try to cherish this stage of life where raising children together makes friendship easier and friendship makes raising children easier.
  • My marriage at 32 is much better than my marriage in my twenty's. I have really grown to appreciate Jason and all the ways that we are different. Rather than wishing he were different, I see how he has a strength for my every weakness.
  • My relationship with God is defined by an overwhelming sense of gratitude. I know there will be pain and hardship in my life. But I'm just so amazed at the blessings I am privileged to experience right now.

Happy Birthday Bev - My much younger friend. So far 32 has been good to me as well, for the past 24 days anyway. Hope it is a good one and that you don't spend all day prepping for turkey day.
