Happy Birthday, Dad!

Today is my dad's birthday.

Let me take this opportunity to tell you what a wonderful dad I have.

When I think of my dad over my thirty years, I think of these words: loving, hard-working, integrity.

My dad has always worked so hard to provide for our family. He loves to work. But he loves his family more and that is why he works. I can think of many examples over the years where my dad has done the right thing when it wasn't immediately in his favor. But it was the right thing.

I know my dad worries sometimes, but you would never know it. He always believes that things are going to work out. He is the eternal optimist. This must come from his faith in God. He isn't at church every time the doors open or knocking on your door to tell you about Jesus. But his faith is quiet and strong and sure. It is beneath all that he is.

Even as a grown adult, I have been known to crawl up in his lap. He is my Daddy, no matter how old I am.

I love you, Dad. Thank you for all you have poured into my life.

I hope you have a wonderful birthday.
