We are not potty training. We are just starting to think about it. I promised myself I wouldn't rush it with Lane like I did with Amelia. Amelia turned two and we were doing it! It was fine, but I think it would have gone a lot faster if I would have waited until she showed interest in it. Still, she was way potty trained by the time she was Lane's age. Until recently, I would ask Lane if he wanted to go potty like a big boy and he would say, "No, you." or, "No, YaYa (which means Amelia)". So I just haven't worried about it.
I am getting tired of the smug looks on peoples face when I answer "no" to the standard question, "Is he potty trained?". I can't help it if my son looks like he's four! He's just now 2 and a half. He has plenty of time for all that. Plus, he's so strong willed, I'm just kind of dreading it. It would be nice to be down to one in diapers, though. I'm so ready for that.
So, I bought him big boy underwear today. Spiderman, Thomas the Train, and Diego. He carried the Diego pants around with him for quite some time. He wanted to sleep in them. It would be nice if just once he could pee in the toilet on command before we go putting those things on. Just thinking about all the pee I cleaned up off the floor and carpet when training Amelia is enough to keep me buying diapers for eternity. Maybe the strong willed characteristic will play in my favor. Maybe he'll just decide he wants to do this and never turn back to the diapers. We'll see.

I hear ya sister! Looking 4 years old doesn't help our cause with these boys! Take heart in knowing that Grady, at 3 months older, isn't potty trained either. :-) Its tough to accomplish when your child screams "NO!" and falls to the floor...just upon entering the bathroom! I figure - I have kids that sleep...not kids that pee...and that is a decent tradeoff I think. --Sara
DON'T bother till he's ready. Need I remind you of the hellish ordeal with Elli??
Wait til he wants it!
OH MY GOODNESS!!! We just got Ella's package, and we are so impressed with its contents. It is absolutely adorable! Did you really make that? So, so talented. Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness...keep an eye out for a few special deliveries in return. :)
