Deer Hunting

Our evening routine has changed a bit since the time change.  It now usually involves me getting stuck at home with Owen, (who still insists on going to bed at 6:30 despite many attempts to get him to stay up later) while Jason and the older two go out "shining" for deer.  They have seen up to 15 deer in one night just in our neighborhood.  That is pretty funny to me because until then, I honestly thought I kept seeing the same three deer over and over again.  Oh, we have a little deer family that live in the woods in our neighborhood, so I thought.  Apparently, we have a rather large deer population.  Clearly Jason doesn't know too much about laws regarding deer because after he bought a huge bag of deer feed, he learned it was illegal to feed deer.  Huh, who knew?  I wonder, then, why you can in fact go to the store and buy a clearly marked bag of deer feed? Today I was hushing Amelia as she was telling the neighbors all about the remains of corn in the golf cart from the deer food they put out last night.  Tonight it is pretty cold (for South Florida) so the kids had to get all bundled up.  This is as close to feeling like winter as we get.  I think I'll even fix them hot chocolate when they come in!
